It is often a struggle trying to figure out a style outfit for work. One that will always be in your favor is a pant suit! The two-piece matching set continues to be a thriving trend from corporate to street style outfits. What I love about pant suits are the different forms and functions it comes in. You can wear it with a more masculine taste with the shoulder pads or add a feminine touch to it with fun floral prints. Pant suits are being redesign to cater to fashionistas who love wearing shorts or skirts over pants.
I thrifted this Ann Taylor pant suit for $20! If you want to hop on the pant suit trend wagon without paying over $100, definitely check out your local thrift store. You may be surprise on the style finds you’ll score.
For this look I wanted to add a feminine touch, which I did so by adding a beret and colors like red and pink. I love mixing different style elements to create an outfit story of my own. Pant suits can be styled in both a professional and casual way. I went with a more professional route adding a bow-tie blouse and heels. If you are more of a casual gal, a white t-shirt and sneakers would definitely be just as cute!
90s style continues to be a trend and there is one I am quite obsess with — dad sweaters! According to the internet, the “dad style” is referred to as the comfy, retro-looking style, as if it has been worn for years. This pretty much sums up my entire wardrobe. I love to shop, but I don’t buy everything I eye-ball. Instead, I purchase timeless pieces that I know I’ll wear for years to come. You can check out my ‘4 Tips from a Smart Shopper’ post on tips to shop for that timeless wardrobe.
What I love about my dad sweater: it’s comfy, soft, and neutral! This is one of my favorite causal looks to flaunt. It’s the perfect, easy street style outfit without any effort. I love the neutral tones and little touches of gold details.
When I hear the phrase, “what fashion means to me” I immediately go to my happy place. Growing up, fashion was my big sister, best friend who helped build my self-confidence and self-expression when I felt so different from the people around me. She accepted my indecisive choices from sequin tops to lace dresses and approved my wide array of color picks. Through it all, fashion allowed me to be my unapologetic self.
My LOVE for fashion all started when I was 5 years old. My mom planned a mini photoshoot in the back porch because she bought matching denim outfits for my sister and I. As the unique, creative individual I am, I quickly found a solution to make my outfit more me. I grabbed a navy blue knitted cardigan and styled my first outfit. I wore half the cardigan on and the other half hanging off the shoulder for a slouchy look. For a 5 year old, this style decision made me feel more empowered and creatively happy. That kick-started my fashion journey and here I am today pursuing a fashion-focused career!
When it comes to fashion, I love the ever-changing trends and style throwbacks. Everything from the luxury accessories to seasonal dedicated pieces. Fashion is a great example of how people continue to change and there are no set ways to do everything. I truly believe that fashion continues to play a key role in all successes of life. When I feel good about what I’m wearing, it’s crazy to see how it positively affects everything and everyone in my life.
Fashion to me means empowerment. The empowering feeling to be who I am, do what I love, and continue to positively inspire those around me. Comment down below what fashion means to you, I would love to know 🙂

Hello Loves! One of my favorite things about being a fashion blogger is prepping for a photoshoot. I love picking out my outfit to finding the perfect accessories! There are so many elements that go into prepping for a photoshoot, but I try to keep it as simple as possible. I have been asked multiple times on how I go about getting ready, so here it is!
Step 1: Pick Out THE Outfit
When picking out your outfit you need to make sure that it’s fitting to what you want to write about and showcase on social media. Fashion is more than clothes, it’s a way to inspire and tell stories through the movement of the fabric and location. I highly recommend purchasing an external clothing rack to put all of your fashion looks that need to be photograph. This has helped me be more organize and remember which photoshoots are coming up.
Step 2: Beauty Glow!
I’m all about the everyday, natural make-up because my blog focuses on outfits for the everyday woman. This is the time to add some life and color onto your face. And sometimes I’ll add a fun lipstick to give the look that extra pop.
Step 3: Keeping the Teeth White and Clean!
If I’m being honest, my teeth are really important to me when I’m prepping for a photoshoot. The reason is because I’m always smiling in all of my photos. To ensure that my teeth stay clean and white, I have been using the Colgate TotalSF Advanced Whitening Toothpaste. I have been a loyal consumer to Colgate because it has continued to keep my teeth white and squeaky clean especially for someone who has sensitive teeth like me. If I could only choose one step to recommend, it would definitely be this one. Your smile is what draws people in and in my opinion really makes or break a photo.
Colgate TotalSF now does MORE for your mouth. Colgate TotalSF now helps with sensitivity, enamel strengthening, fights bad breath, tartar build-up, cavities, plaque, and gingivitis and whitens your teeth! What a great value for all the benefits. You can find the product at your local Walmart and earn money back with the ibotta offer!

Step 4: Accessories, whether Hair or Jewelry.
Even though an outfit may be cute or trendy, it’s the accessories that brings the entire look together! I recently purchased this pearl hairpin and it literally glams up an entire look. The pearls are gorgeous and gives off that glam feel!

My love for thrifted fashion continues to grow! I discovered my love for thrifting in 2017 and ever since then, I can’t seem to stop myself. I have found a few of my favorite staple pieces from thrift stores for less than $20, which I am sharing on this blog post today!
I’m all about mixing affordable fashion with luxury accents, especially when it comes to work fashion. We all know that work style pieces like blazers can get pretty pricey. As a graduate student on a fashion budget, thrift stores are my go to place for blazers. Blazers are such an iconic part of a work uniform, it helps add structure and sometimes is the stand out piece that pulls the entire look together.
Another work outfit piece I love to thrift are turtle-neck sweaters. Thrift stores are filled with this classic piece and they are seriously the perfect winter work top! I thrifted two turtle-neck sweaters (black and white), as styled below. These sweaters were less than $5 each AND they give the work outfit a chic look while appropriate for the winter season. Let’s be honest, sometimes button-ups can’t fight against the cold weather.
I am so excited to be partnering with some of my gal pals to share their thrift store finds, tips, and more. Check out their thrift posts below!
