A subtle metallic style piece is one of my favorite ways to slightly spruce up an everyday work outfit. It gives that shimmer without being too much in your face. I thrifted this light pink metallic top from thredUP. The original price was $24.00 and I bought it for $11.99. I love the pink with the cream dress pants because it’s a classy color combo that won’t have HR chasing you down the hall. Also, the sleeves are skin tight, which kind of feels like spanx for the arms!
My number one rule for wearing metallics is to not let it overpower the work outfit. Even though you may want to have it be the star of the show, sometimes it can come off as tacky. It should be a fun add-on, not a screaming piece that takes the attention away from the entire outfit.
It is often a struggle trying to figure out a style outfit for work. One that will always be in your favor is a pant suit! The two-piece matching set continues to be a thriving trend from corporate to street style outfits. What I love about pant suits are the different forms and functions it comes in. You can wear it with a more masculine taste with the shoulder pads or add a feminine touch to it with fun floral prints. Pant suits are being redesign to cater to fashionistas who love wearing shorts or skirts over pants.
I thrifted this Ann Taylor pant suit for $20! If you want to hop on the pant suit trend wagon without paying over $100, definitely check out your local thrift store. You may be surprise on the style finds you’ll score.
For this look I wanted to add a feminine touch, which I did so by adding a beret and colors like red and pink. I love mixing different style elements to create an outfit story of my own. Pant suits can be styled in both a professional and casual way. I went with a more professional route adding a bow-tie blouse and heels. If you are more of a casual gal, a white t-shirt and sneakers would definitely be just as cute!
90s style continues to be a trend and there is one I am quite obsess with — dad sweaters! According to the internet, the “dad style” is referred to as the comfy, retro-looking style, as if it has been worn for years. This pretty much sums up my entire wardrobe. I love to shop, but I don’t buy everything I eye-ball. Instead, I purchase timeless pieces that I know I’ll wear for years to come. You can check out my ‘4 Tips from a Smart Shopper’ post on tips to shop for that timeless wardrobe.
What I love about my dad sweater: it’s comfy, soft, and neutral! This is one of my favorite causal looks to flaunt. It’s the perfect, easy street style outfit without any effort. I love the neutral tones and little touches of gold details.
