Thrifted Work Outfits

Thrifted Work Outfits

My love for thrifted fashion continues to grow! I discovered my love for thrifting in 2017 and ever since then, I can’t seem to stop myself. I have found a few of my favorite staple pieces from thrift stores for less than $20, which I am sharing on this blog post today!

I’m all about mixing affordable fashion with luxury accents, especially when it comes to work fashion. We all know that work style pieces like blazers can get pretty pricey. As a graduate student on a fashion budget, thrift stores are my go to place for blazers. Blazers are such an iconic part of a work uniform, it helps add structure and sometimes is the stand out piece that pulls the entire look together.

Another work outfit piece I love to thrift are turtle-neck sweaters. Thrift stores are filled with this classic piece and they are seriously the perfect winter work top! I thrifted two turtle-neck sweaters (black and white), as styled below. These sweaters were less than $5 each AND they give the work outfit a chic look while appropriate for the winter season. Let’s be honest, sometimes button-ups can’t fight against the cold weather.

Where to Shop for Feminine/Chic Fashion

Where to Shop for Feminine/Chic Fashion

Happy Monday! Fashion is my forte and I love everything from shopping to putting an outfit together. On a daily basis I always get asked where I buy my clothes and today I thought why not share my favorite places to shop for feminine, chic clothes and accessories.

STORETS – The online shop for all of my Chanel inspired babes! Their style is a 10 out of 10. It’s the perfect mix of street style and femininity. I love their feminine pieces from lace to tweed! P.S. they have the cutest hair accessories.

ASOS – The “IT” fashion shop that sells the latest trends! I love surfing through their website to find the latest feminine/chic pieces. They are also on top of their fashion game and you can find all sorts of style! I have found some of my staple pieces on ASOS.

H&M – If you are on a budget, I totally recommend H&M. They have the chicest pieces for under $100 and their quality is amazing! I love that they have simple, chic pieces that can be worn in multiple ways.

LULUS – The girliest online shop that I live for! They have the cutest dresses. If you are looking for cute, chic dresses, I really recommend Lulus. They have the cutest sweaters and shoes as well. I literally live for their newsletters to see the new items!

DSW – My shoe shop! I have bought the majority of my shoes from DSW. I love their wide assortment of shoes and their prices are unbeatable! They have shoes for everyone and their sale section is amazing! P.S. their quality is pretty amazing too!

FOREVER 21 – Yes, Forever 21 gets a bad rep for copying other designers and being a part of the fast fashion industry, however, I will admit that they have a good selection of feminine pieces especially for shoppers who are on a tight budget. They are more street style focused, but don’t underestimate their feminine pieces.

4 Tips from a Smart Shopper

4 Tips from a Smart Shopper
Hello Loves!

I will admit, I’m a shopaholic. I love to buy whatever is in my lane, especially if it’s pink, vintage, and glam. However, these past few years, I have developed a few tips and tricks on how to look fabulous without breaking the bank.

Thrift Stores – The good ol’ hand me down playground that is filled with lots and lots of hidden gems. I will admit that thrifting does take a good chunk of your time, so prepare to be very patient. 90% of the time you will end up with nothing. However, when you find that hidden gem, it’s all worth it, especially when its in great condition for less than $10! I have found some of my best fashion statement pieces at a thrift shop. My go to online thrift shop is thredUP and my go to in-store thrift shop is Goodwill.

Department Stores – The best place to buy brand name clothing and accessories for a discounted price. Gordmans, TJ Maxx, and Nordstorm Rack are my favorite shops to buy Nike and Fila comfy clothes as well as Nine West shoes. Their discounted prices are unbeatable! If you are all about the brand names, these department stores are for you!

Ebates – If you love to online shop religiously, definitely sign up for Ebates. This is the place to receive cash back for simply shopping for what you need and want. Disclaimer: not all online stores are on Ebates, but a good chunk are. I probably online shop 3-4 times every year and my Ebates checks end up being between $5 – $15, which has helped pay a few bills here and there.

Holiday Sales are the best sales! – If you are dying to buy something and a holiday sale is coming up, I say wait for that Holiday Sale discount. I have saved so much by just waiting a day or two. Usually these sales will be 20% – 50% an entire purchases or buy one and get one free.

The Waiting Game – I have played this game so many times and it has paid off in the end. For example, Storets has this gorgeous blouse that I’ve been wanting for weeks, however, I convinced myself that it wasn’t in my budget to buy it full price. So, your girl waited and I finally snatched it a few days ago for half price. Best shopping score ever! Trust me, sometimes waiting for the price to drop can really pay off.

Fashion Movies/TV Shows for Inspiration!

Fashion Movies/TV Shows for Inspiration!
Hello Loves!

I’m a sucker for good ol’ fashion-themed movies and tv shows! Lately I have been binge watching The Carrie Diaries since I’ve been obsessed with the 90s/vintage style. I love the motivation and inspiration I get from each of the strong-female leads who find a way to be their authentic self while always looking fabulous. When I feel uninspired or lost in what I’m creating, I plop on my bed and watch one of these iconic movies/tv shows to help spruce up creative ideas and remind myself that a career in the fashion industry is possible.
